Drs. Tanner and Sarah Clark opened their North Liberty orthodontic office in 2012. In 2014, they expanded to Muscatine after purchasing the longtime practice of Dr. John Sleichter, continuing an orthodontic legacy in that community that began in 1981.
Today, Clark Orthodontics remains locally owned and privately operated. From our North Liberty office to our Muscatine office, our doctors and team are proud to build lasting relationships with the Eastern Iowa families we serve.

Together, Drs. Tanner and Sarah have more than 30 years of combined orthodontic experience. As the area’s only husband-and-wife orthodontist team, they share patients, collaborate on treatment planning, and provide two experienced perspectives to patient care.
A U.S. Army veteran and former general dentist, Dr. Tanner Clark brings a broad understanding of oral health to treatment planning. He pairs that experience with a commitment to continued learning and a collaborative approach focused on creating healthy, balanced smiles.
Before becoming an orthodontist, Dr. Sarah Clark served as a general dentist in the U.S. Air Force, which helped shape her patient-focused approach. Today, she focuses on providing thoughtful, personalized treatment while helping patients and families understand the reasoning behind their care.
Great orthodontic care involves much more than what happens in the treatment chair. Our energetic, knowledgeable team works to know patients by name, remember what’s important to them, communicate clearly, and keep visits friendly and efficient. That personal attention also means meeting patients where they are. Our English- and Spanish-speaking team can provide additional accommodations when needed, including private rooms, fidget tools, office tours, and extended appointment times.
Hi, I’m Courtney! I am from Wilton, Iowa and have been with Clark Orthodontics since I graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in health and human physiology. Before working here at Clark Orthodontics, I was a patient in the Muscatine office!
I am now a registered dental assistant and the treatment coordinator for both locations. When I am not at the office, you can find me playing with my 4-year-old dog, Jazz!
Hi! My name is Laura. I graduated from Hempstead High School in Dubuque, Iowa. After a few years of traveling, I decided to continue my education at Kirkwood Community College where I received my associate degree and certificate for dental assisting.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends. In my spare time, I take time to travel and attend different concerts. I also like being outside with my dog Moose, he is a German Shepherd/Husky mix. We have four children: Kailee, Ryan, Brendan, and Evleyn, that keep us very busy with sports and various activities. Outside of work I enjoy going for walks, cooking, and spending time with the family.
I have been an orthodontic assistant for 30 years starting in Columbia with my own orthodontist that straightened by teeth as a teenager. From there I moved to Kansas City, then Springfield, MO after I got married, then to Iowa. There are many things to love about my job, but mostly I love to see all the beautiful smiles that I help create!
