Sarah E. Clark, DDS, MS
Dr. Sarah E. Clark is originally from Sioux City, Iowa and graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in 1996. After high school, she attended Dana College in Blair, Nebraska, where she received an athletic scholarship for basketball, cross country and track. Dr. Clark then went on to attend dental school at the University of Iowa and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2003.
Dr. Clark then voluntarily chose to serve in the United States Air Force as a general dentist from 2003-2008. In 2003-2004, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. Dr. Clark then served for four years as a general dentist at Ramstein Air Force Base in Ramstein, Germany. She had the opportunity to spend one month in Mali, Africa on a humanitarian mission treating dental disease in many local African children.
After her military service, Dr. Clark practiced as a general dentist in a private practice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and also became a faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, Department of Family Dentistry. In 2009, she was accepted into the orthodontic residency at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. In 2011, she completed her orthodontic specialty training and earned her Master's degree (MS) and Certificate in Orthodontics. Dr. Clark recently became board certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Tanner J. Clark, DDS, MS
Dr. Tanner J. Clark is originally from Hillsboro, Wisconsin and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1996. In 2000, he received his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Clark then went on to attend dental school at the University of Iowa and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2004. While in dental school, he was elected into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society.
Dr. Clark then voluntarily chose to serve in the United States Army as a general dentist from 2004-2008. In 2004-2005, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Pulaski Barracks in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Dr. Clark then served for three years as the Officer-In-Charge of the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center Dental Clinic in Landstuhl, Germany. This is the primary hospital and clinic where members of our armed forces are first seen when flown out of Afghanistan and Iraq for medical and dental emergencies.
After his military service, he continued his studies at University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where he completed his orthodontic specialty training and earned his Master's degree (MS) and Certificate in Orthodontics in 2010. After graduating from his orthodontics residency, Dr. Clark stayed on as a clinical faculty member for a year at The University of Iowa Department of Orthodontics. He also completed the rigorous process to become Board Certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Sarah and Tanner Clark's professional affiliations include: the American Board of Orthodontics, the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Midwest Society of Orthodontics, the Iowa Society of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association.
Drs. Sarah and Tanner Clark and have three sons, Drew, Luke, and Jake. In their free time, they enjoy traveling and watching Iowa Hawkeye and Wisconsin Badger athletics. They are also avid runners and triathletes.
